i support your appeal to tone down garba celebrations. actually the decision of the muslims did not surprise me though it touched my heart, communities that live close do mourn together. it is highly commendable. when i was growing up, a death in the mohalla was treated as a death in the family and singing and music were not allowed and radios were banned from use for many days.
small towns still maintain some of these traditions of sharing.
tv channels did show the news.
