I dont know from when onwards this trend is happening..

My grandfather often used to tell me about some incidents.. there
used to be a market in the nearby town, on those days.. the people
from hills would come down with all their products, and people from
villages in the plains also assemble in the same day..

On those days, the tribals had their own share of the sale directly
and most of the times there seemed to be no middle men..

Except for mining regions, i think we can bring about changes in the
rest of the area.. Today's generation of tribals are changing
gradually.. But, it needs government's support and restoration of
their old rights, for them to stand straight..

In tamilnadu, veerappan was a sandalwood smuggler, and he influenced
the entire forest region of sathyamangalam, dharmapuri, and adjoining
karnataka areas of the forest.. till he was there, the people from
plains did not dare to go there and buy land.. (Kannada actor
rajkumar was kidnapped)..

But after he was killed by state police, the plains people are now
buying numerous acres of land, and encroaching illegally too..
