It is pity that Sri Venkat has spoken with half knowledge. He should first know that tribals are not Hindus. Tribals have right to follow and practice any faith as they like. He has stated that Nagaland has English as a State language. Don't we know what language the Government of India is using. He has mentioned that conversion have resulted in separist movement. One should know that Ctholic Church do meddle with politics. Priests and bishops are forbidden to take part in politics. If some priest want to join politics he has to leave priesthood first. If someone speaks about missionaries one should know in what condition they opened schools in remote areas where no NGO, no other religion dared to go and educate tribals. If one should go and visit the tribal belt of Chotanagpur, one will find no Government school and hospita/ primary health care centre. It is only the church who provided these poor tribals education and medical facilities. The services of church is not free to lure or dupe these tribals. Though I was never resided in Chotanagpur region, apart from tribals only business men class are found. These business men or baniyas were not settled in tribal areas to help tribals but to exploit and enslave them as their servants. Now since tribals are educated these baniyas are finding difficult to exploit them. Many baniyas have now sold their land and moving away and perhaps behind the attack on christians in the name of conversions. Sri Venkat has also stated about the culture and traditions. One should know that even though the tribals have converted to christianity they have maintained their culture and traditions. The ageold customs are still followed right from birth to death. We still celebrate karam, sarhul or navakhani. I have not seen the church interfering in our culture, customs or traditions. As a citizen of India, we must respect all religion. barla vincent ------------------------------------ Replying to this email will send an e-mail to 8500+ members of Jharkhand Forum. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ About Jharkhand Forum @ http://www.jharkhand.org.in/about-jharkhand-forum Jharkhand Forum's Posting Norms http://jharkhand.org.in/posting_norms.htm Add your ORG Name in Directory - http://directory.jharkhand.org.in Join Jharkhand Network to Make New Friends @ http://JHARKHAND.ning.com Jharkhand Forum is run by Internet Volunteer Groups, if you wish to join it then follow this link http://volunteer.jharkhand.org.in +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ CHECK OUT JHARKHAND BLOG @ http://Jharkhand.org.in/blog MAKE FUNDING SUPPORT APPEAL HERE @ http://FUNDING-APPEAL.blogspot.com Get a FREE website for your NGO @ Http://Gift.Jharkhand.Org.In Check out previous messages @ http://egroups.com/list/Jharkhand/messages +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Get yourname@jharkhandi.com by sending a blank mail to info@jharkhandi.com Yahoo!
