"The only issue that rocks any right thinking Indian in Tribal issue is conversion and conversion alone."
Venkat, Thank you for your brilliant advice! But sorry, I thought it matters to me as a tribal to come up in life; make a mark in society not by my birth, but by developing my potential; to look into your face eyeball-to-eyeball; drink from the same well where you drink from; walk on the same path as you do; let my shadow fall on a Brahmin. For ages, the Manuwadis denied the Shudras all this and more. They want to extend the same "privileges" to us, tribals, even as we never belonged to the Hindu Varna system. That's why only my conversion to other religions matters to you. I wouldn't have interacted with you in English and use internet, if my ancestors had not embraced Christianity. Were they duped or threatened? Far from it. As I said some time earlier, I should at least know what my ancestors were like, wouldn't I? Or is it you who should teach me about them? Sure, go and preach to as many people as you wish. The Indian Constitution allows you to do so. But why use threat, violence and allurement you falsely charge others of? cyprian |
