Hi Venkata, You are not at all authorised by saying on behalf of SCs that they do not use the term Dalit. It would be better if a dalit himself writes. The term dalit has been used widely by the SCs in Sourth India as well as North India and they feel it as dignified terminology. It seems from your posting that you have serious problems with Dr Ambedkar, who actually coined the term "dalit". The SCs of the whole Maharastra use the word dalit with great pride. The brahmincal casteist society do not believe in emancipation hence try to perpetuate slavery and inhuman uncivilised tradition of untouchability, through hegemony of words, language and "culture" like the Western hegemony of dominance. By the way can you ask yourself that in every word you use in your own day to day interaction and introducing your own identity is as per the constitutionally defined (legal) terms or Supreme Court's defined terms. Please disown the attitude to undermine other's identity and respect. Thanks __._,_.___
