The reason behind this apparent 'inversion' in Kerala is actually a result of the centuries-old interaction of caste hierarchies with successive arrival Christian churches. This study has not made a startling new discovery and there is extant literature in sociology on caste hierarchies among Christian churches in Kerala. - Arnab Sen

I have about the caste hierarchies among Kerala Hindus - whwre the Ezavas are socially boycotted until recently, and prevented from entering into the temple, whcih led to famous VAIKOM PORATTAM. However, about the caste hierarchies among Kerala Muslims - I think it is yet to be shed light.
