Education, specially the university education in India has has increased tremendously since Independence but the quality education has been beyond the reach of the ordinary citizens. The good quality education has been the privilege of of elites of India.
What is needed in India is Vocational training and education for majority of Indians which can help them to earn better livelihood by using these skills in small private industries and self help groups/co- operatives rather than every one looking for govt. jobs.
Apart from these more efforts should be made to increase the literacy of the villagers so that they can understand their rights and privileges and stand up to fight for them.
