Diatribes against the other are easy. Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Animists, Monotheists, Pantheists, Atheists, believers of all shapes and hues, are all are fair game to each other. Not just words, a lot of blood also gets spilled when one set of believers takes on the others. More specifically, more blood has been spilt in the name of Christ that in the name of any other god or person. Does one need to repeat the gory details of unspeakable Christian barbarity? Does one need to quote the various figures of Christian piety and authority denigrating everyone else, on grounds of religion and race and colour? How many times? Does that mean that all Christians are barbarians? Or that Christ was a barbarian and preached a crude and savage faith? I think this nonsense must stop. Of course religion is part of India Pakistan animosity, as it is part of Israeli-Arab hostility. But I think we do not all become Hindu/ Muslim/ Jew haters on that account. Western civilisation (which is/ was wholly Christian) has turned identity into a weapon for offence non pareil. They did it out of their own sense of superiority, and disdain for the "other". And, having "established" their superiority they are now enjoying the spectacle of us "inferior" beings fall into the trap they have created. We have been fooled by Europe (European civilisation/ culture) for long enough, dont you think?
