While Singh has failed to produce any papers in support of his claim, the occupants of the bungalow, Manoj Kejriwal and his wife Bindu Kejriwal, met coal belt DIG Anurag Gupta along with members of the Bokaro Chamber of Commerce today and showed him all relevant documents — including electricity connection papers, loan papers etc — to claim they had bought the house from one Niwaran Chandra Das on August 1, 2008.

Manoj alleged that Singh and his men, all armed, used force to take over their house on December 3.

They also took away ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh and Rs 60,000 in cash, he added.

The Chas police, Manoj further alleged, did not help him and refused to lodge a complaint against a high-profile politician. He then moved court with a complaint leading the chief judicial magistrate, S.P. Tiwary, to order the police to register an FIR — under Sections 323, 341, 452, 387 and 379 of IPC.

The bungalow, with an area of 10,000sqft and worth around Rs 75 lakh, has now been taken over by the JMM leader who has even erected a party board on its terrace. His men, the Kejriwals alleged, were making a nuisance of themselves and using the place to be entertained.

According to the police, Manoj bought the bungalow from Das on August 1, and later got the mutation done in his favour by the Chas circle officer. No objections were recorded during the process. Now, even the electricity connection has been transferred in Manoj's name, the police added.

Singh, when contacted, also claimed he had bought the house from Das and his descendants in October, but refused to show any documents in support.

Bokaro superintendent of police Priya Dubey told The Telegraph that she was looking into the case and had asked the DSP to examine all documents and investigate the matter.
