I accept the first and the last, but will you please elaborate whether EVR did anything tangible for Harijans ? From what I gather from his works, his work was to lift his own category (meaning only Sudras) and he considered the Harijan as dust. And Mayavati wants to erect statues for him.
He has the most dubious credential of a coward in front of the semitic religions since he never dared to open his mouth at their own quota of evil practices.
And BTW, you have forgotten Vallalar, the Nayanmars and Alwars who did commendable work in redressing the issue of harijans. (Almost all Harijans are Vaishnavites in Tamilnadu). You have also forgotten to mention the self sufficient villages that existed prior to 1850 and even upto 1930 s only to be broken by westernization.

The key issue here is that his motto was totally different from Ambedkar and EVR. They were only slanging at the population. This man went into action and is living a dream. Hazare has only schools in his area and no colleges. When asked he said, "If a guy goes to college and gets a degree, he flees the village. if he specializes with a doctorate, he flees the nation!" Words to ponder over indeed.
To understand his words, we need philosophy. I have issues relating to philosophy in the Dharam Pal issue. As Sociology and Philosophy does not meet, I will address the group in a separate post.
