I agree with you Anjali. I feel that it is important to find ways of bring that "nieghbourhood feeling" back obviously in a new form to suit today's needs. I do not know how to do it but some way has to be found of building up local solidarity. I too grew up in the same culture. I remember the scolding and beating I got from my mother when I put on the gramaphone when there was funearl in our neighbourhood. There was a sense of solidarity irrespective of our religious belonging. That solidarity has to be re-establishe in a new form. Walter |
