Christians from Kerala or any other state have the same constitutional rights to visit, live and work (preaching one's religion freely is one such constitutionally valid activity) and provide missionary aid and assisstance to people in all other parts of india. But Bajrang Dal, VHP et all., cannot claim any constitutional support for destruction of churches, prayer halls, and attacks on and murder of christians, no matter how angry they may be about the success of the church among sections of the marginalised and the dispossessed. what BD and VHP are doing fits the description of terrorism, i.e. making innocent persons pay with their peace and their lives because they want to live their lives as they choose and not how BD/ VHP want them to. Shouldnt we ask for the organisations to be banned, rather than allow the bullying of priests and raping of nuns?
Anti-conversion laws, which are unable to stop forcible conversions of those who were not even hindus to start with, become an instrument of further terror among the minorities and provide a fig-leaf behind which communal parties and their fascist outfits like the BD/ VHP can claim to hide as they attack vulnerable persons. The assumption that all persons are ultimately hindus is pure hogwash.
All the foreign funding that is coming into the coffers of sangh parivar outfits - massive sums from the building funds for the ram temple onwards - must be made public and expenditures accounted for.
Peace cannot come unless the perpetrators of terror are swiftly and severely dealt with according to law on all sides. there is no peace of the graveyard.
